The International Association of Sports Dentistry (IASD), headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland was founded in 2015 in Hamburg, Germany. The IASD is a non-profit organization with personal and institutional members worldwide.  Its mission is :

1. to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health in sports worldwide 
2. to support and represent the oral health research community in sports dentistry 
3. to facilitate the communication and application of research findings
4. to coordinate the international activities in sports dentistry 
5. build a worldwide network of sports dentistry
6. support members in subjects of sports dentistry
7. to organize meetings, conferences and education in the field of sport dentistry
